Before choosing a material, consider the industry application of the hydraulic manifold, its working pressure, and the environment where it will be used. If stainless steel is an option, you will increase the life of your manifold assembly in even the harshest and most extreme environments.

In theory, yes. However, the advantages of disc brakes lie not in the size of the rotor, but how efficiently force is transferred from the lever to the braking surface. The friction coefficients of carbon fibre and aluminium rims aren’t nearly as good as steel disc-brake rotors, and rim-brake calipers and housings are much more prone to power-robbing flex than compact hydraulic disc-brake calipers. Exceptions do exist, such as some specially treated rim-brake sidewalls and hydraulic rim-brake calipers, but for the most part, it’s really not the same thing.

Then it is ground flat. Although it may sound simple, just the initial grinding of the material can take weeks due to its brittleness, and this step requires great care. After that, an anti-corrosion treatment is applied so that the stone’s appearance does not deteriorate over time – the meteorite is rich in iron, and iron rusts.

However, if your pads are severely worn, it’s possible that you could push the pistons out back the seals, in which case you’ll spew fluid everywhere and unseat the pistons. Seriously, this is bad news.

For preliminary coarse grinding, CarbiMet™ SiC grinding paper is used to remove most deformation zones created during the cutting process. Users can also achieve best edge retention for further preparation steps, ensuring grinding and polishing media is evenly distributed and homogenous all over the sample surface during the coarse-fine polishing stages. Usually one SiC paper lasts for about two minutes (depending on the sample material). Sometimes multiple papers may be required to prepare the sample for the subsequent steps. In soft materials loose SiC particles get embedded on the surface, and pressure and grinding times need to be adjusted when handling soft ferritic materials.

Where low maintenance and corrosion resistance is required, stainless steel plates are a natural choice and are used in a diverse range of applications from modern architecture for cladding or fascias, to the food hygiene industry due to its anti-bacterial qualities.

Another UK based company, Monitran the supplier of cost effective sensors, has also introduced a range of Eddy current probes. Its most common probe for monitoring high speed pumps with plain metal bearings is the MTN/EP080, which has a diameter of 5mm and is able to measure small vibration levels with gaps up to 2mm. Other Monitran Eddy Current probes include: the MTN/EP200; the MTN/EP340; and the heavy-duty MTN/EPHD80. Controlling the probes are drivers such as the MTN/ECPD/85 and the MTN/ECPD/60.

And for good reason, as racing seats are designed to provide driver protection and keep him or her firmly in place in spite of immense lateral G-forces. Face it, you can’t do a good job of controlling a car when you’re sliding all over the place.
